Thank you very much for your continued patronage of Tomatonokuni.
■There is still some snow remaining, but the budding of spring has begun.
Butterbur sprouts are peeking out from under the snow.
Please come and see spring in Sakae.

■About accommodation tax
From June 1, 2026, a lodging tax of 200 yen per person per night will be charged.

■We accept bookings for general meetings, farewell/welcome parties, banquets, etc.
Please apply by phone.

■Notice of change in opening hours for day-trip hot springs
Our opening hours from April 1st to November 30th will be changed as follows:
From 13:00 to 20:00(Last admission 19:30)

■Regarding our regular closing days in April 2026
　Tomatonokuni is closed due to maintenance.
　Our regular closing day in April 2026 is April 9th (the second Thursday).
　We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

■Cafeteria opening hours
　There are no set opening days for the cafeteria.
　If you would like to have lunch, please contact us by phone in advance.


About Tomatonokuni

  • What is Tomatonokuni?

    The name "Tomatonokuni" comes from the Peruvian word tomato, which means "children of the sun."

    Tomatonokuni was created as a nature experience facility for children.
    The maze-like layout and child-sized building structure are remnants of that time.

    It has now been transformed into a facility for everyone, from children to the elderly.
    All of our staff will work hard to ensure that you have a relaxing and comfortable stay.

  • Banquet Hall

    Tomatonokuni, we accept banquets and memorial services for lunch and evening.
    Please feel free to contact us as we will be happy to discuss your budget.

  • Hot Springs

    Both men's and women's baths are made of stone and are 100% free flowing from the source.
    The brown hot springs contain iron and will warm you to the core of your body.

  • Rest area

    This is a 55 square meter Japanese-style rest area that you can use for a short break.

    *It may not be available due to circumstances such as charter.Please understand.
